I'm Tabitha Rickard, your Kangatrainer for Ballarat.
I am a mum, wife, actress, youth worker, dance instructor and 5 years ago I embarked on an exciting new path to become a Kangatrainer.
The arrival of my beautiful little girl in 2013, sparked my passion for babywearing, living a healthy lifestyle, and supporting new mums in my community.
As a former dance instructor and cheerleading coach I have always had a passion for dance based activities, but struggled to find any exercise classes that included my daughter as well as being safe for my pelvic floor and abdominals as a postnatal mum. Kangatraining has given me the perfect opportunity to blend all the things I love to do, and create a space where mothers and their babies can bond and have fun together.
My Kangatraining partner is now my seccond child Mr Caleb, who loves it when mummy dances around with him in the baby carrier! What I love most about kangatraining is that he is a part of the class and it’s a time for us to have fun together and bond, rather then leaving him on the sidelines while I try and exercise.
As a mum myself, I know how being a mummy can prevent us from choosing self-care and we end up neglecting our fitness and health needs because we are too busy being mums. I understand how sleep deprivation and mummy exhaustion can be overwhelming, and choosing to exercise usually falls off our to-do list.
I would like to help you change that, and invite you and your baby to join me in having fun and getting fit at our next Kangatraining class, so I really hope to see you there!
